Hi, I'm Jonah.

I'm 23, a third-year dental student at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, graduating in 2028. Before dental school I grew up around the work itself, spending four years as a dental assistant at Troy Smiles, Livonia Smiles, and East Lansing Smiles while I finished my undergrad at Michigan State.

I got into dentistry because the right dentist can change how somebody feels about their own smile, and the wrong one can keep them out of a chair for years. I want to be the first kind.

The way I see it, my job is to make you feel safe. I work slow. I explain what I am about to do before I do it. If your jaw gets tired, we take a break. If a tooth does not need to be worked on, I am not going to work on it. You should walk out feeling taken care of, not sold to.

Every step of your visit is checked and approved by a licensed U-M faculty dentist. Two sets of eyes on every tooth, every time.

Things people ask.

How much does it cost?

Fees at the U-M school clinic are generally lower than many private practice settings. Specific costs depend on the treatment plan, and the clinic reviews pricing with you before any work begins.

Who actually does the work?

I do the dentistry, and a licensed U-M faculty dentist evaluates and approves every step before, during, and after.

What happens at my first visit?

Usually a screening or comprehensive exam to check what care you need. We talk through the plan together so you know exactly what is going to happen.

How long do appointments take?

Plan for longer appointments than at a private office. We take more time because each step is checked by a faculty dentist. The trade off is closer attention on every tooth.

Do you take insurance?

The U-M clinic accepts many insurance plans and offers payment options. The clinic confirms your coverage before any treatment.

What can you help with?

Cleanings, exams, fillings, crowns, dentures, broken teeth, and general dental concerns. If something is outside what I can do, the clinic can route you to the right faculty or specialty area.

Tell me how to reach you.

Takes about 30 seconds. I follow up personally.
